Océ adds 2.5 m UV curable inkjet printer
Océ CS7100 joins popular Océ CS7000 Series
Venlo, the Netherlands, 15 May 2006—The Océ CS7100 printer joins the popular Océ CS7000 Series UV curable inkjet printers that can print onto either roll-based or rigid media. The Océ CS7100 is part of the Océ CS7000 Series printers which includes the Océ CS7075 and Océ CS7070 models. The Océ CS7100 prints up to 2.5 meters wide and will be delivered with newly developed, heavy duty roller tables to support a wide range of rigid substrates up to a thickness of 12.7 mm.
Production print speeds
The Océ CS7100 offers two Production Quality print speeds for producing high quality, sellable graphics: Production
Quality 600 x 300 dpi print speed is 40.7 m2 (438 ft2) per hour, and Production Quality 600 x 600 dpi print speed is 20.9 m2 (225 ft2) per hour. Billboard Quality and High Quality print modes are also available. High Quality and Production Quality modes include “fine text” and “sharp edge” modes for superior text- and edge-sharpness.
Rigid or roll-based media
Print directly onto rigid stock up to 250 cm (98.5”) wide and up to 12.7 mm (o.5”) thick, to create point-of-sale signage, exhibition displays or wayfinding displays. By simply removing the roller tables and loading roll-based media, users can create vinyl and textile banners, window graphics and paper-based prints.
Micro-Quad™ printing technology
The Océ CS7100 utilizes sixteen 600-dpi Micro-Quad piezo inkjet print heads, featuring a total of 1,536 jets to deliver high print speeds.
For indoor or outdoor graphics
The UV curable, pigmented inks offer outdoor durability of up to three years.
This hybrid printer can produce extremely durable, high quality output for outdoor and indoor applications.
Flexibility to produce a wide range of graphics
The Océ CS7100 can print onto rigid substrates or flexible roll media up to 250 cm (98.5”) wide. Newly developed heavy duty roller tables are included to print on rigid media up to 152 cm (60”) long. An optional set of heavy duty roller tables is available, for printing on rigid media up to 305 cm (120”) long. Users can print directly onto a variety of uncoated rigid substrates such as foam-core style mounting board, PVC sheets, styrene, aluminumplastic composites and more. The tables are easily detached to accommodate rollbased media such as vinyl banner media, pressure-sensitive adhesive films, papers and various textiles. Typical applications include indoor and outdoor point-ofpurchase signage, vinyl and textile banners, exhibition displays and window graphics.
The Océ CS7100 can print full bleeds onto rigid substrates, eliminating expensive laminating and time-consuming mounting steps.
UV curable inks for increased productivity
Océ IJC700 UV curable, pigmented inks used in the Océ CS7100 are packaged in sealed, 3-liter containers. Since UV curable inks “cure” instead of “dry,” nozzle dropout caused by ink drying in the print heads is avoided, reducing maintenance and increasing printer productivity as the prints can be immediately handled after printing. UV curable inks image well on a wide range of media, and on certain materials can deliver better printing performance than solvent based systems. The Océ IJC700 UV curable inks offer vibrant, high quality output with an outdoor durability of up to three years depending on the application.
New features for easier media loading and usage
Rigid material loading has been made easier by the addition of a releasable pinch roller system. Once in place, the pinch rollers are engaged with a variable force adjustment to work with a wide variety of materials. Pressing the load button causes the printer to use its integrated Automation Eye to sense the right, left and front edges while also checking for media skew. It then automatically accurately positions the media for printing. The Media Wizard
feature stores many of the characteristics of a particular media, such as media feed advance rate, UV lamp intensity and platen vacuum force. When changing media type, the Media Wizard restores the proper values, greatly reducing the time to switch from one type of media to another.
