Venlo, November 5,  2007 — Océ today announced the introduction of theOcé Color System (CS) 163/173/193 color multifunction range for office environments. The systems bring printing, copying, scanning, optional faxing and avariety of advanced finishing modules to smaller offices and workgroups. The series extends the Océ color multifunction range and gives office environments a lower cost entry into advanced document functionality. The three systems come in speeds of respectively 20, 25 and 35 images per minute and are available now.

Bringing more to offices and workgroups

“These systems are real jacks of all trades, ” says Rächel Achouak, product manager for the Océ CS163/173/193. “They allow companies to handle the most common office documents easily and efficiently. In addition, because companies can print, copy, scan, fax and finish documents on a single system, they can consolidate their equipment and improve their total cost of ownership. The systems really bring more document possibilities to offices and small workgroups.”   

Versatile modularity gives companies choices

Multiple system configurations mean that companies can choose the system that best fits with their current budget and document needs. They can also upgrade to a higher speed engine when their workflow warrants it. The Océ CS163 produces at 20 ipm, the Océ CS173 at 25 ipm and the Océ CS193 at 35 ipm in color and black & white, no speed difference. Companies can also choose from other options, including:

  • Faxing

  • Extended input capacity, up to 3,650 sheets

  • Extended output capability, up to 1,200 sheets

  • Océ software for additional workflow control

The systems provide high fidelity printing in black and white and color, so users can choose the most appropriate mode for the document they are producing. 

Advanced finishing modes bring more possibilities

In addition to the four-in-one functionality, the Océ CS163/173/193 offers a choice of finishing options: stapling, booklet finishing, punching and stitching. “These professional finishing options allow users to produce professional looking documents with an added edge,” says Achouak. “For example, they can do stapled or folded reports and brochures in house, so they can save on outsourcing costs. Because the system is designed to be placed in the office environment, end users can easily make a few copies right from their desks.
This makes it simple, for example, to print a freshly updated and attractively finished report right before a meeting.” 

Environmental friendliness is built in

The Océ CS163/173/193 is the latest in a long line of Océ products designed to minimize environmental impact. The systems comply with Blue Angel, EPA Energy Star and ROHS standards. Other environmentally friendly features include a system that reduces energy consumption and shortens warm-up time, parts made of recycled plastics, the ability to handle recycled paper and lower sound emission.
