Sustainability Report 2011

This Sustainability Report describes Océ's performance in its five sustainability focal areas and presents the actions taken during the year. Furthermore the report provides quantitative information on the economic, social and environmental impact of Océ’s operations. The activities are reported on the basis of the G3 Guidelines laid down by the Global Reporting Initiative.

Report highlights

Key achievements during 2011 include:

  • CO2 emissions have been reduced by 13%.
     

  • The percentage of renewable electricity used by Océ production sites increased from 45% in 2010 to 78% in 2011.
     

  • Océ launched the Océ VarioPrint® DP Line of production printers based on highly sustainable technologies that eliminate ozone emissions and greatly reduce energy usage.
     

  • The number of countries in which Océ operates that are FSC/PEFC Chain-of-Custody certified, increased from 6 to 9.
     

  • The target on waste going to landfill was achieved one year ahead of schedule.

The Océ external auditor Ernst & Young Accountants LLP was requested to provide external assurance on this Sustainability Report. The results can be found in the assurance report on page 72.
